The Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade returns in 2025 to the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real street circuit, thus bringing together two of the strongest names in circuit racing in Portugal.

Supercars Endurance series returns next year to the ‘capital of motorsport’ in Portugal, after a year of hiatus, thanks to the agreement reached between Race Ready and the Associação Promotora do Circuito Internacional de Vila Real.

Thus, the tens of thousands of fans who gather along the Transmontano circuit will have the chance to witness the intense battles that define the races of the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, which brings together some of the best national teams and drivers at the helm of impressive machines, such as Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, McLaren, Porsche, among others.

Diogo Ferrão, the CEO of Race Ready, welcomes the return to the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real:“We really enjoy visiting this circuit because of its unique atmosphere created by the tens of thousands of spectators who gather along the track, both in the stands and beyond, creating a spectacular display. Our teams will have the necessary conditions to work on their sophisticated cars, and I am confident they are excited about this return and determined to offer fans an unforgettable weekend of great racing, along with the drivers. We aim to have a large and vibrant starting grid. I also want to thank the organisation for the effort made to provide us with the minimum conditions to be present, with each team having the right to a tent in a flat area with access to electricity, which, as we know, can be challenging in an urban circuit”.

José Silva, from the Associação Promotora do Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, stated that “for the Circuito Internacional de Vila Real, it is very important to have the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, the largest track competition in our country. The championship is, notably, very strong, featuring top drivers, teams, and fantastic cars that can perform at the ‘national capital of motorsport’. For Vila Real, the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade is crucial, as it always has been.”

The Circuito Internacional de Vila Real street circuit event will be the second round of the 2025 Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade. Between July 4 and 6, it will be decided who will succeed José Carlos Pires / Francisco Abreu (BMW M4 GT4 – Speedy Motorsport) and Jorge Rodrigues / Patrick Cunha (Audi R8 LMS GT4 – Veloso Motorsport), the winners of the first and second races, respectively, of the 2023 edition of this event.
