The two Supercars Endurance races held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, which counted towards both the Iberian Supercars and Supercars España series, were full of excitement, but also featured significant decisions by the Stewards that altered the final classifications.
In the Race 1, the GT4 Bronze division saw a particularly eventful finish. Local driver Manuel Bertolín (BMW M4 GT4 EVO, Bertolín Motorsport) had crossed the line first in the division, but a five-second penalty, applied for contact with Max Huber and Tomás Granzella (Mercedes AMG GT4, NM Racing Team), relegated him to second place. As a result, Luís Calheiros and Paulo Macedo (Porsche Cayman CS RS, Veloso Motorsport) were declared winners of the Gt4 Bronze division, their first ever win in the class.
The Race 2 also saw penalties impact the final classifications. Guillermo Aso and Filip Vava (Mercedes A
MG GT4, NM Racing Team) had taken the chequered flag first in GT4 Pro-Bronze, but a two-second penalty for overtaking under the Safety-Car dropped them to second, handing victory to Sérgio Azevedo and Orlando Batina (Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, Batina Racing).
In GT4 Bronze, the pairing of Andrés Prieto and Ricardo Costa (Mercedes AMG GT4, NM Racing Team) received a similar penalty - five seconds - and fell from first to third. This promoted Álvaro Lobera and Gonzalo de Andrés (McLaren Artura GT4, McLaren Barcelona – SMC Motorsport) to the win, followed by series debutant Kyam Potež (Mercedes AMG GT4, Lema Racing).
The official corrected classifications are available below.
The next round of Iberian Supercars and Supercars España will take place at Jerez de la Frontera on 31 October, 1 and 2 November, also counting towards the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade. The event, featuring separate grids for GT4, GTC, and Touring Cars, will be the decisive weekend for the Spanish championship titles, promising another thrilling and closely contested set of races.
