Following a selection process that assessed the technical abilities of the new generation of drivers for national motorsport, Portuguese ASN Federação Portuguesa de Automobilismo e Karting (FPAK) is pleased to announce the four drivers chosen to join the FPAK Junior Team in the circuit racing discipline.
The drivers selected to represent the programme this season are: Diego Sirgado, Bernardo Passanha, Nathan Corbet and Gonçalo Moura.
This elite quartet will have both the responsibility and the privilege of competing in the increasingly competitive and demanding Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade / Iberian Supercars, going up against some of the strongest grids on the Iberian Peninsula. The programme’s core objective is to provide a solid and professional transition from grassroots motorsport categories into touring cars, ensuring that national talent is properly supported in its sporting development.

For 2026, the FPAK Junior Team quartet will benefit from the cutting-edge performance of the all-new BMW M2 Racing. Developed by BMW Motorsport as an entry-level circuit racing car, the model offers the ideal balance between power and agility, serving as the perfect platform for young drivers to showcase their full potential across every circuit on the calendar.
“The selection of these four drivers reflects FPAK’s commitment to renewing Portuguese motorsport. Diego, Bernardo, Nathan and Gonçalo have demonstrated not only speed, but also a level of maturity and learning capacity that makes us very optimistic for the season ahead. In addition, after the first three years of the project led by FPAK and Race Ready, we are taking a qualitative step forward with a new-generation car that will give these young drivers a clearer understanding of modern circuit racing. I have no doubt it will be a highly competitive year”, said Ni Amorim, the President of FPAK.
It is also worth highlighting the prize money awarded in the BMW M2 Cup Iberia to the top three finishers in each race, enabling drivers to build budget directly towards the 2027 season and supporting a structured progression pathway within the sport.
The FPAK Junior Team in circuit racing is a strategic initiative by the Portuguese ASN, in partnership with Race Ready, aimed at identifying and supporting young talent, removing barriers to the top levels of competition and promoting Portugal as a breeding ground for outstanding racing drivers.
