GT4 AM PRESENTS STRONG GRID FOR VALENCIA RETURN

The Supercars Endurance series return to action at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia from 25 to 27 September for the fourth round of the season, following the traditional summer break. The return comes on a large scale, with more than two dozen GT4 cars entered, while the growth of the GT4 Am division stands out, with a particularly strong entry list.

GT4 Am, created to accommodate drivers with less competitive experience, has also established itself as a key gateway into the world of GT racing. The philosophy of the division – allowing less experienced drivers to enjoy competing in high-performance machinery in a more relaxed environment suited to their pace of development has been instrumental in attracting new names and consolidating existing projects. The result is a strong and diverse grid, featuring several stories of sporting progression.

Among the entries for the Valencia round is the RV7 Team entered Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, with Mico Mineiro returning to share the driving duties with Rúben Vaquinhas, the reigning GT4 Am champion. The Portuguese driver, who is making his championship debut this year, began the season with a victory and a second-place finish in the Algarve, but did not compete at Jarama. At Vila Real, Vaquinhas raced alone, making this the first opportunity for the duo to resume their joint campaign, focused on the Iberian Supercars.

Promotion Motorsport is also maintaining its commitment to the series, entering the BMW M4 GT4 EVO for Smorg and Javier Macias. The Spanish pairing has been a regular presence in the fight for the top positions, combining experience and consistency that make them contenders for strong results in Valencia.

McLaren Barcelona - SMC Motorsport will also return, entrusting one of its three McLaren Artura GT4s to Jaime Sanchis and Alex Wendt. Having made their debut in the GTC category last year, the two drivers have impressed in GT4 Am, already claiming two victories - one in the Algarve and another at Jarama – and establishing themselves as one of the division's most competitive pairings.

NGT Motorsport returns to competition after choosing to focus its efforts on the Iberian Supercars, sitting out the Jarama and Vila Real rounds. The team will once again field the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 shared by Miguel Ferreira and former GTC champion Fernando Soares, maintaining the continuity of a project that was renewed this season.

NM Racing Team will also return to the grid with a fourth entry, fielding a Mercedes-AMG GT4 for gentleman driver Josep Parera, who competed in last year's Supercars Endurance event in Valencia.  He will be joined by young Aleix Nogue, who has just one previous motorsport appearance, also in the Supercars Endurance championships, at the Jerez round, where he drove a Ligier JS2 R for Chefo Sport. The pairing perfectly embodies the spirit of GT4 Am, combining a true AM driver with a competitor at the beginning of his racing journey, whose background is primarily in sim racing, as they look to learn and develop together.

Finally, Speedy Motorsport, a regular contender for overall victories, has entered a Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO 2 for Spaniards Rafael Muncharaz and Mateo Muncharaz, father and son. Young Mateo has limited competitive experience, having competed in races in the RACE Velocidad Championship, but will now have the opportunity to develop alongside his father, who returns to the Supercars Endurance after a year's absence.

With twenty-eight cars entered and a diversity of driver profiles that reflects the essence of GT4 Am, the event, scheduled for 25 to 27 September at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, promises plenty of action following the summer break. The double-header weekend will count towards the Iberian Supercars and the Campeonato de España de Supercars.
