GT4: VALENCIA OPENS WITH NEW PROTAGONISTS BUT THE SAME COMPETITIVENESS

The fourth round of Supercars Endurance got underway this Friday at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo with a free‑practice session marked by remarkable competitiveness: the top nine cars were covered by less than one second, reinforcing expectations for one of the most exciting weekends counting towards the Iberian Supercars and the Campeonato de España de Supercars.

Spain’s Lluis Mas and Finland’s Alex Dahlstrom set the fastest time of the session at the wheel of the McLaren Artura GT4 of McLaren Barcelona – SMC Motorsport. The new duo, composed of two young drivers coming from karting, showed very strong pace, with Dahlstrom making his official debut in car racing and adapting impressively to the GT4 environment.

Just one tenth behind were Anton Morsing and Mathieu Martins in the Racar Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo. The pair is looking to put the setbacks of the first half of the season behind them and demonstrated both speed and consistency, confirming their determination to regain ground in the fight for the top positions.

In GT4 Pro‑Bronze, José Carlos Pires and Francisco Abreu once again showcased the strength of Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2. They were consistently the fastest in the division throughout the day and ended the session third overall, ahead of Hendrik Still and Carlos Vieira in Veloso Motorsport’s Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, who again showed competitiveness following their victory in Vila Real.

Right behind came Gianfranco Motorsport’s duo, Nuno Afonso and Alexandre Areia, also driving a Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2. They finished just two tenths off the fastest Pro‑Bronze time, reinforcing the tight battle that defines the division.

In GT4 Bronze, Ricardo Costa and Andrés Prieto topped the times with NM Racing Team’s Mercedes‑AMG GT4, ahead of Vasco Oliveira and Manuel Gião in Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo. The gap of only four tenths promises an intense rivalry throughout the weekend.

With a strengthened field, GT4 Am also proved extremely close, with the Spanish drivers showing early form. Jaime Garcia and Alex Wendt, in McLaren Barcelona – SMC Motorsport’s McLaren Artura GT4, set the benchmark, finishing less than a second ahead of Josep Parera and Aleix Nogué in NM Racing Team’s Mercedes‑AMG GT4, who showed strong pace in their debut with Nil Monterrat’s squad.

Qualifying takes place tomorrow at 12:25 (Lisbon time), followed by the first race at 16:40. On Sunday, the second race of the programme begins at 12:50, closing a weekend that promises action across all divisions.

Tickets for the event are available on the circuit’s official website, starting at €30, giving access to the grandstands, paddock and several additional activities, including Monster Truck demonstrations, a car exhibition and live concerts throughout the three‑day programme.

The races will be broadcast live on DAZN Portugal and DAZN Spain, and can also be followed on Race Ready’s social media channels — including qualifying — with commentary in Spanish and English. Outside the Iberian Peninsula, the event will also be aired on Motorsport TV Deutschland (Germany), Parc Fermé (Italy) and Braking Zone TV (Brazil), ensuring international coverage that further enhances the visibility of Supercars Endurance.
