QUALIFYING SESSIONS SHOWCASE REMARKABLE VARIETY

The fourth round of Supercars Endurance, counting towards the Iberian Supercars and the Campeonato de España de Supercars, delivered intense moments today in Valencia, with qualifying sessions highlighting an impressive level of competitiveness. The small gaps and strong performances from teams and drivers set the stage for two highly intense races at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

On a very hot day and with a large crowd already present, both qualifying sessions were fiercely contested, with multiple protagonists and minimal differences between them — a clear demonstration of the championship’s high level.

GT4 – Qualifying 1: Still shows his strength

The first GT4 session was dominated by Hendrik Still, who took Veloso Motorsport’s Porsche Cayman CS RS to the top with a 1:39.992. The German once again showed his ability to extract the maximum from the Weissach machine, beating Anton Morsing — in Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 — by just three tenths. The Dane saw Raul Zunzarren, also in a Porsche but from Speedy Motorsport, match his time to the thousandth, underlining the balance seen this afternoon.

McLaren Barcelona – SMC Motorsport placed Rafael Rajani and Lluis Mas right behind, both in McLaren Artura GT4 machinery, while Rodrigo Almeida, in Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2, finished only three thousandths behind the Spaniard.

In Pro‑Bronze, José Carlos Pires, driving the official Portuguese team’s Toyota, was fastest, followed by Guillermo Aso in NM Racing Team’s Mercedes AMG GT4.

In GT4 Bronze, the best time belonged to Vasco Oliveira in Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, while in GT4 Am, Alex Wendt topped the times in McLaren Barcelona – SMC Motorsport’s McLaren thanks to an excellent performance from the Spaniard.

GT4 – Qualifying 2: Martins impresses

The second qualifying session once again delivered outstanding performances. Mathieu Martins, in Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, produced an extraordinary lap of 1:39.117, securing pole with a one‑second margin over the runner‑up. The Portuguese‑French driver confirmed the strong pace he has shown throughout the season and hopes to convert it into results this time.

Filip Vava, in NM Racing Team’s Mercedes AMG GT4, was second fastest, followed by Alexandre Areia in Gianfranco Motorsport’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2, who led the Pro‑Bronze class with a remarkable lap.

Among the GT4 Pro runners, Luís Aguiar, in SMC Motorsport’s McLaren Artura GT4, was third fastest in the division, while Simon Connor Primm — who has raced in the DTM and competes this weekend in CV Performance x JP Motorsport’s Mercedes AMG GT4 — also stood out with fifth overall.

In GT4 Bronze, Andrés Prieto was quickest in NM Racing Team’s Mercedes, followed by Manuel Gião in Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin. In GT4 Am, Aleix Nogué, also in a Mercedes from the Barcelona‑based team, led the division, followed by Javier Macias in Promotion Motorsport’s BMW M4 GT4 Evo.

GTC / Touring Cars – Qualifying 1: Teixeira sets the tone

The first GTC and Touring Cars qualifying session once again highlighted Daniel Teixeira’s dominance, as he took JT59 Racing Team’s Hyundai Elantra N TCR to the fastest overall time with a 1:41.818. The Portuguese driver reinforced the control he has shown throughout the season in the Touring Cars category.

In GTC, Gabriel Caçoilo was fastest in GTX with Chefo Sport’s Ligier JS2R, followed by Alejandro Iribas, also in a Ligier. In the Cup class, Ángel Lanchares led the way in Lan GP Racing’s Porsche 911 Cup.

In GTX Am, the best time went to Breno Arruda in TRS Team’s McLaren 570S GT4, demonstrating the strong pace he has shown in other events this year.

Daniel Casas could not have asked for a better debut in the BMW M2 Cup Iberia, topping the times in Promotion Motorsport’s car ahead of Diego Sirgado of FPAK Junior Team and Francisca Queiroz of LOB Motorsport. Gonçalo Moura, also from FPAK Junior Team, set the fourth‑best time.

GTC / Touring Cars – Qualifying 2: Teixeira remains on top

The second qualifying session was once again marked by Daniel Teixeira’s dominance, as he repeated the fastest Touring Cars time with a 1:42.176, reinforcing his status as the category’s absolute reference.

In GTC, Himar Acosta was quickest in GTX with Veloso Motorsport’s Ligier JS2R, followed by Jemma Moore in Lema Racing’s Ginetta G55. In the Cup class, Ángel Lanchares again led the division in Lan GP Racing’s Porsche.

The returning Emmanuel Gachiteguy topped GTX Am in Team CDRS’s Ginetta G55, showing that the small English constructor’s cars are also a force to be reckoned with.

Daniel Casas was once again fastest in the BMW M2 Cup Iberia, strengthening his excellent debut with Promotion Motorsport by finishing ahead of Kika Queiroz, who beat both FPAK Junior Team cars — this time driven by Nathan Corbet and Bernardo Passanha.

Today’s races take place at 15:25 for GTC / Touring Cars, while the GT4 race begins at 16:40. Both can be followed live on DAZN Portugal, DAZN Spain and on Race Ready’s social media channels, with commentary in Spanish and English.
