Supercars España enters a new stage of its development in 2026, adopting the official title Campeonato de España de Supercars, a designation formally approved by the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo (RFEDA).

The name change reflects the natural progression and sustained growth of the series in Spain, which is set to contest its third season with an increasingly prominent role in the Spanish motorsport landscape.

Since its inception, the Spanish Supercars Endurance series has steadily gained traction among domestic teams, while also attracting international entries, contributing to a highly competitive grid.

The growing interest from drivers, teams, spectators, and media has been pivotal in this development, reinforcing the championship’s identity and its integration within the Spanish federative framework.

As a direct consequence of this recognition, the RFEDA will appoint a Technical Delegate and a Sporting Commissioner, strengthening oversight and enhancing the organisational robustness of the championship.

For Manuel Aviñó Roger, President of the RFEDA, “the establishment of the Campeonato de España de Supercars is excellent news for Spanish motorsport. After two years as a state series approved by the RFEDA, the evolution of the championship organised by Race Ready has been very positive, both in terms of the organisational quality of events and the sporting participation of brands, teams, cars, and drivers. Its Iberian-focused calendar aligns with a context of collaboration with our Portuguese neighbours. I foresee great success for this championship, which promises high levels of spectacle and competitiveness at every points-scoring race”.

Diogo Ferrão, CEO of Race Ready, sees the RFEDA’s decision as “recognition of the work we have been developing over the years. Supercars España, now the Campeonato de España de Supercars, has grown in significance among Spanish drivers, teams, and fans, thanks not only to our own efforts but also to the support of all involved stakeholders and the circuits, which have helped promote the championship’s image. With this RFEDA endorsement, the championship is stronger than ever and enters a new phase of growth”.

The calendar retains the structure of recent seasons, aligned with other series within the Supercars Endurance universe. The season opens at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve from 15 to 17 May, alongside the Iberian Supercars and the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade.

The second round takes place at Circuito de Jarama from 5 to 7 June. One of the most iconic moments of the Campeonato de España de Supercars continues to be the visit to Jarama, integrated into the Jarama Classics. This Iberian-scale event regularly fills the historic Madrid circuit’s grandstands, standing out both for its media impact and the unique atmosphere it provides.

The third round will be held at Circuit Ricardo Tormo from 25 to 27 September. The Valencian circuit is a favourite among drivers and teams, annually attracting a large number of enthusiasts. This year’s edition takes place one week later than usual to align with the new promotion strategy of the Valencia Iberian Racing Festival, to be announced in due course.

The season concludes at Circuito de Jerez, as part of the Jerez Iberian Racing Festival, from 6 to 8 November. This circuit, often decisive in championship outcomes, will once again host the season finale, now under the new designation of Campeonato de España de Supercars.
