Chris Hillaby joins Supercars Endurance's Portimão with a Porsche 911 Cup

British driver Chris Hillaby will make his first appearance in the Supercars Endurance/Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade by Hankook with Mental Motorsports’ Porsche 911 Cup on July 30/31 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

Hillaby started his motor sport career on two wheels, first in motocross and then on racing circuits, with a Suzuki GSXR 720 and a Yamaha R1 1000 in endurance races, before opting for cars.

Over three seasons he drove a Radical SR3 RS in various races in the UK, Holland, Abu Dhabi and in the Nevada Cup Spain. More recently Hillaby has joined the Malaga-based Mental Motorsport team, driving a VW Golf in Spain and the Porsche 911 Cup in the GT Winter Series.

“When I was racing in the GT Winter Series in Jerez I met with Diogo Ferrão who invited me to run in the Supercars Endurance which seems to be a competitive series to run my Porsche 911 Cup car," he said. "The goal for the Algarve race is preferably a class win, but as this will be my first time at Portimão, a solid result and a safe weekend may have to be the goal.”
