The 2024 Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade (CPV) reaches its conclusion this weekend at the Autódromo do Estoril, with numerous titles still up for grabs.
This season has been thrilling, with various teams triumphing across categories and divisions after intense battles, ensuring that the final event will deliver high drama. The margin between success and failure could be measured in mere tenths of a second.
GT4 – Almost Everything Still in Play
The GT4 category has produced exciting track battles and heads into the final event of the year with several titles undecided. César Machado and Jan Durán, already crowned champions of the Iberian Supercars and Supercars Jarama RACE, are strong favourites for further glory in the overall and GT4 Pro divisions.
Francisco Mora, driving a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, poses the main challenge to the Speedy Motorsport duo’s Toyota GR Supra GT4. However, with Mora trailing by 34 points and 54 points still available, the climb may be insurmountable—but not impossible.
In GT4 Pro, the points gap is narrower, with Mora and his teammate Gonçalo Fernandes needing a flawless weekend to seize the title. Manuel Gião and Mathieu Martins retain a mathematical chance of winning both championships but would require a major upset for the Speedy Motorsport duo.
In GT4 Bronze, Jorge Rodrigues and Patrick Cunha arrive at Estoril as champions after an impressive season with their Audi R8 LMS GT4 from Veloso Motorsport, marked by three victories. The main focus will be whether Luís Liberal can secure the runner-up spot, though the gap to the second-placed drivers is a challenging 52 points. However, the lowest step on the podium is within reach.
In GT4 Am, Igor Sorokin and Keith Gatehouse lead after a strong season with their Mercedes AMG GT4 from NM Racing Team. However, skipping the final round leaves them vulnerable to Miguel and André Nabais, who are just 21 points behind. A pair of podium finishes would secure the Nabais brothers the title, but nothing is certain in such fiercely contested races.
The Racar Motorsport duo, Ruben Vaquinhas and Pedro Bastos Rezende, also have a chance at the runner-up spot in GT4 Am but would need near-perfect results.

Touring Cars – Daniel Teixeira Chasing a Double
Daniel Teixeira has already secured the TCR title, but his dominance in the Touring Cars overall standings still needs confirmation. The task should not be overly difficult, but nothing can be taken for granted in motorsport.
Rodrigo Ferreira and João Oliveira, both from the FPAK Junior Team, are tied on 91 points, 46 behind Teixeira’s Hyundai Elantra N TCR, leaving them with slim mathematical hopes of claiming the crown. However, their battle for second place will add intrigue to the Ginetta G40 competition.

With the Cup category already secured, Miritta is poised to seal the GTC overall title as well, with a 51-point advantage over Andrius Zemaitis. A finish in the first race should suffice.
The GTX division remains tightly contested, with three drivers separated by just 20 points. Zemaitis leads, but Simon Moore and Tomás Pinto Abreu, just six points behind, are serious challengers. Henrique Cruz, despite a steeper uphill battle, is still in the mix.
