Victory for César Machado and Tomás Teixeira in the second GT4 race of the Supercars Endurance weekend at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE was merely the final chapter of an intense and unpredictable contest. Part of the Jarama Classic and counting towards the Campeonato de España de Supercars, the race featured battles throughout the field and several changes of leadership before the Speedy Motorsport pairing emerged on top after fifty minutes of racing at an exceptionally high pace.
Competitiveness once again proved to be one of the defining characteristics of the GT4 field. Throughout the race, several teams were involved in the fight for the leading positions in a contest where Madrid’s intense heat once again put drivers, teams and machinery to the test.
The opening half of the race was dominated by a fascinating duel between Filip Vava and Alexandre Areia. The NM Racing Team driver, who had started from pole position, and the Gianfranco Motorsport driver engaged in a fierce battle at the front of the field, both maintaining a relentless pace as they sought to take control of the race.
Meanwhile, Tomás Teixeira adopted a more strategic approach at the wheel of the Speedy Motorsport Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2. The Portuguese driver carefully managed his tyres and avoided excessive wear during his stint, laying the foundations for César Machado’s attack in the second half of the race. The strategy proved decisive, allowing the pair to take the lead and secure a victory built as much on race management as outright speed.
Behind the winners, Alexandre Areia and Nuno Afonso, driving the Gianfranco Motorsport Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, produced a strong performance to finish second overall and claim victory in GT4 Pro-Bronze. Third overall and second in GT4 Pro went to Tomás Granzella and Filip Vava, who once again demonstrated the pace of the NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT4.

The battle for victory could, however, have featured another contender. Mathieu Martins was closing on César Machado and displaying the pace required to challenge for the win when a suspension failure on the Racar Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVO forced the crew into retirement. It was another cruel blow for the team after losing what had seemed a certain victory in Saturday’s race due to a mechanical issue on the final lap.
Eric Gené and Jan Durán, in the BMW España Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 EVO, initially crossed the finish line in second place overall following a highly consistent race. However, a ten-second penalty for an unsafe release during the pit stops dropped the pair to third in class, although the result still delivered their first podium finish of the season.
Alexandre Areia and Nuno Afonso were the strongest pairing in GT4 Pro-Bronze, managing to finish second overall after a highly competitive performance.
Orlando Batina and Nuno Pires put the misfortune of the previous day behind them. After ABS problems compromised their Saturday race, the duo responded with a solid drive to secure second place in the division.
José Carlos Pires and Francisco Abreu completed the class podium. Following their victory in the opening race, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal drivers added another valuable points haul with third place, strengthening their championship challenge.

It should be noted that both the Gianfranco Motorsport and NM Racing Team crews received fifteen-second penalties for alleged overtaking under yellow flags. Both teams have lodged appeals, meaning the classification remains provisional.
In GT4 Bronze, victory went to Ricardo Costa and Andrés Prieto in the NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT4, the pair prevailing after an entertaining battle with Vasco Oliveira and Ivan Velasco throughout the race.
The Racar Motorsport duo finished close behind the winners and once again demonstrated the competitiveness of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 EVO, securing second place in the division.
The final podium position went to Héctor Hernández and Borja Hormigos, who delighted their home crowd by taking the Autoworks Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 to third place in class.

Managing their race superbly, Smörg and Javier Macias, driving the Promotion Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 EVO, proved the strongest competitors in GT4 Am and secured their first class victory of the season.
Alejandro Wendt and Jaime García, in the SMC Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4, finished second in the category and remain firmly in contention for the championship battle heading into the next round.
With an action-packed Jarama event now concluded, Supercars Endurance turns its attention to one of the most eagerly anticipated moments of the season. The next round of the championship, counting exclusively towards the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, will take place between 10 and 12 July as part of the 2026 Circuito Internacional de Vila Real meeting, a historic venue in Iberian motorsport that is once again expected to deliver spectacular racing in front of thousands of spectators lining the streets of the Transmontano city.
