Monteiros Competições has confirmed its participation in the 2024 Iberian Supercars and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade with two Porsche 911 Cup cars for Rui Miritta, and a lineup yet to be announced.
Rui Miritta is no stranger to the Race Ready-organised series. He competed in last year's opening round at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and the final event at the Autódromo do Estoril, winning in both race weekends in the Cup division. The Portuguese racer is opting once again to drive his Porsche 911 Cup, competing in both the Cup division and the GTC category. The experience Rui Miritta gained in 2023 played a decisive role in his decision to commit to the full season this year.
"I thoroughly enjoyed the races I participated in last year! The atmosphere was highly enjoyable, and the level of competition was intense, which helped me improve as a driver in a very pleasant environment. Additionally, the organization was top-notch, which was a key factor in my decision to return, this time for the entire season," he said.
Rui Miritta anticipates facing tough opponents next season, including Cup division champions Dave Benett and Marcus Fothergill, but he remains confident in his ability to contend for victory.
"Although I'm not yet aware of all my competitors, I know that the previous winners will be on the grid. However, I believe I'll have the necessary resources to compete for victory in each race. Monteiros Competição and I will put in the hard work, and I aim to be in the running for the Cup title," concluded the driver competing in the division reserved for former Porsche one-make cup cars.
Monteiros Competições has a second Porsche 911 Cup available for rent, which can also enter in the Cup division.
The Monteiros brothers racing team is also responsible for running a trio of Ginetta G40 GT5 cars for the FPAK Junior Team.
The Iberian Supercars, Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, and Supercars España seasons will kick off on May 25th and 26th at the Jerez circuit, with a test day scheduled for April 6th at Autódromo do Estoril.
