Paulo Macedo and Luís Calheiros are set to contest their fourth consecutive season in the Supercars Endurance series in 2026, once again competing in the GT4 Bronze category behind the wheel of a Porsche Cayman CS RS GT4 prepared by Veloso Motorsport.

The pairing’s decision to continue reflects a sustained commitment to a championship they know well, where they have steadily built a record defined by consistency and competitive progression.

After making their series debut in 2023 with a Mercedes-AMG GT4 run by Lema Racing, where they stayed in the following season, the duo moved to Veloso Motorsport in 2025, an experience they now extend into a second consecutive season.

Last year, the Portuguese pair finished fifth in the Iberian Supercars GT4 Bronze drivers’ standings, claiming four podiums and one victory. In 2024, they also secured fifth overall, achieving two podiums that season, after they were third in 2023 with five podiums finishes.

In the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, Macedo and Calheiros record demonstrates the same regularity, with a fourth-place finish in 2025, backed by five podiums, following a sixth-place overall in 2024, and a third place in the 2023 consistently in the GT4 Bronze class.

Paulo Macedo emphasises that the decision to remain in Supercars Endurance stems from a crucial balance. “We stay in the series because of controlled costs, the organisation, and, above all, the competitiveness. I particularly enjoy GT4 cars, not just for the driving pleasure, but also because they’re universal, allowing you to race anywhere in the world and in different championships”, he said, adding that, in alignment with the team, “our goal for next season is clearly to fight for the GT4 Bronze title”.

Luís Calheiros highlights the strategic logic of their decision, noting both the sporting challenge and the championship’s media exposure. “Supercars Endurance stands out for its high level of competition, the diversity of brands on track, and strong fan engagement. In 2026, the separation of grids will further enhance this dynamic, producing closer races and more direct battles within each category, which will increase overall competitiveness”, he stated.

Regarding their ambitions, the message is clear: “the target is the title. We want to prepare the season at the highest level, consistently fight at the front, and turn that performance into solid points, so that we reach the end of the season in a position to challenge for, and win, the championship”.

The 2026 Iberian Supercars, Supercars España and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade new season kicks off at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve from 15–17 May, with the official pre-season test scheduled for 21 March at the Autódromo do Estoril.
