NGT will enter the 2026 Supercars Endurance season with a renewed project, fielding an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 as it steps up to the GT4 category, following an encouraging debut season in which it competed in the GTX class with a previous model from the British manufacturer.
The Portuguese outfit thus takes a significant step forward in its sporting development, acquiring a more recent and competitive car that will allow it to join the GT4 field in the GT4 Am division, which is expected to be particularly competitive. Fernando Soares and Miguel Ferreira will share driving duties, forming a pairing that combines experience with an ongoing adaptation process.
For Fernando Soares, this new chapter represents not only a technical progression, but also a return to a car he knows well. The driver returns to the wheel of an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, the same car with which he claimed the GTX division titles in both the Supercars Endurance and the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade in 2023, alongside Álvaro Ramos. Now in a new competitive environment, he expresses his enthusiasm for the project and the changes ahead. “We are very motivated with this new car, which will be a new experience for NGT and represents an important step in our development, moving up to the GT4 category. In addition, we will unveil a completely new livery, further reinforcing the renewed nature of this project”, he underlines.

The move to the GT4 Am division places the team in a more demanding environment, within a grid that has been growing both in quality and quantity, also benefiting from the structural changes introduced in the championship, namely the separation of grids between GT4 and GTC/Touring cars.
From a sporting perspective, Miguel Ferreira adopts a balanced approach, where ambition is tempered by an awareness of the team’s current stage of development and his own learning curve. “The aim is to make the most of this new experience, without ever losing sight of the desire to win. I am not yet familiar with the car and we will arrive in the Algarve without any prior testing, so an adaptation phase will be inevitable. Even so, we want to make the most of every lap, improve progressively and move closer to the front of the GT4 Am field”, he states.
The Supercars Endurance season gets underway from 15 to 17 May at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, as part of the Algarve Iberian Racing Festival, marking the start of the Iberian Supercars, Supercars España and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade campaigns.
