Supercars España enters the decisive stage of the season. This weekend, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia hosts the third round of the championship and promises to be the scene of intense racing, with the added pressure of knowing that everything will be decided straight afterwards at Jerez de la Frontera. With titles still open and minimal gaps between the contenders, the post-summer break round could prove pivotal.
As the Spanish competition approaches its climax, the moment of decisions is drawing near, with the Valencia round – which will feature a full starting grid of 45 cars – set to be the first major turning point.
In GT4 Pro, Roberto Faria and Mathieu Martins (Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) lead with 86 points, thanks to their victory at Jarama and the consistency shown throughout the season. But Francisco Mora and Francisco Abreu (Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2), winners in Portimão, are just 17 points behind and openly ambitious to turn the tables. Tomás Guedes and José Carlos Pires (Speedy Motorsport’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2) complete the top three with 61 points, firmly in contention.

However, after excellent results at Jarama, Nerea Martí and José de los Milagros, in the BMW M4 GT4 EVO, currently fourth with 50 points, also emerge as serious title candidates. The BMW Motorsport España pairing have shown both speed and solidity, and in Valencia – with the young driver competing on home soil in front of her crowd – they could have a decisive say in the title battle.
In GT4 Pro-Bronze, the balance is absolute. Guillermo Aso and Filip Vava (NM Racing Team’s Mercedes-AMG GT4) lead with 87 points and two wins, but close behind are Nuno Afonso and Alexandre Areia (Gianfranco Motorsport’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2), with 80, after one victory and multiple podiums. Orlando Batina (Batina Racing’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2), who has also tasted victory, remains in close touch with 77 points. Three outfits separated by just ten points mean uncertainty and guaranteed drama.

GT4 Bronze is offering an equally vibrant storyline. Ricardo Costa (NM Racing Team’s Mercedes-AMG GT4) tops the standings on 90 points after dominating at Jarama, but Vasco Oliveira and Francisco Carvalho (Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4), only 9 behind, are chasing hard, buoyed by their Portimão win. Each race has produced different protagonists, and Valencia could bring another twist.
In GT4 Am, Smörg and Javier Macías (Promotion Motorsport’s BMW M4 GT4 EVO) have taken centre stage with 95 points, thanks to a commanding performance that included both wins at Jarama. António Lopes and Filipe Videira (Racar Motorsport’s Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) are second with 74, waiting for their chance to spring a surprise, while Rúben Vaquinhas and Pedro Bastos Rezende (Gianfranco Motorsport’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2), winners of the opening Algarve double-header, remain in contention with 53.

The GTX class has also been rich in drama. Alba Vázquez and Alfonso Colombina (McLaren Barcelona - SMC Motorsport’s McLaren 570S GT4) lead with 73 points, having won the opening Portimão race. But Ángel Santos and Alejandro Iribas (Chefo Sport by Petrogold’s Ligier JS2R) stole the spotlight at Jarama with a double victory, climbing to 63 points and keeping the fight alive. Very close behind on 61 points are Gracie Mitchell and Luca Staccini (Tockwith Motorsports’ Ginetta G55), with two runner-up finishes, ready to seize on any slip.
In the Cup class, Rui Miritta (Monteiros Competições’ Porsche 911 Cup) has been the standout figure of the season, winning three races – two in Portimão and one at Jarama – and amassing 101 points. Marcus Fothergill (Tockwith Motorsports’ Porsche 911 Cup) is the only driver to have beaten him, with a Jarama victory, and sits second on 84 points, again teamed up with Dave Benett. Ángel Lanchares and Ramiro García-Pumarino (Lan GP Racing’s Porsche 911 Cup) are chasing the frontrunners, arriving in Valencia ready to attack the points podium.

With victories shared and narrow margins across the board, Valencia promises to be a true boiling point in Supercars España. Spectators can expect a weekend of racing where every moment could alter the course of the championship – all with forty-five cars on track.
At Circuit Ricardo Tormo, two races are scheduled for Sunday: the first at 10:05 (GMT+1) and the second at 15:05, each lasting 50 minutes.
All races will be broadcast live on DAZN Portugal and DAZN Spain, as well as the competition’s official social media channels (in Spanish). The excitement will also be shared internationally, with coverage in English on Alpha Live’s YouTube channel, in German via Motorsport Television Deutschland, and in Italian through Parc Férme TV.
