The Autódromo do Estoril will, this coming weekend, host the decisive showdown for the Touring Car and GTC categories of the Supercars Endurance within the Iberian Supercars and the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade. On a circuit where consistency, race management and strategic awareness are traditionally decisive, everything remains open for a season finale defined by competitive uncertainty.

Throughout 2025, the Touring Car and GTC grids have established themselves as one of the cornerstones of the event, featuring a rarely seen level of technical diversity. Aston Martin, Porsche, BMW, Ligier, Ginetta, McLaren, Ferrari, Hyundai and SEAT share the track with leading Iberian teams, ensuring constant battles between contrasting concepts and racing philosophies.

With two races still to run, virtually every division arrives at the final round with the title fight unresolved. The margins are narrow—many below the value of a single race win—turning Estoril into a true test of precision, where the smallest mistake can be fatal and a flawless execution can reshape the entire competitive picture.

GTC – A Porsche Duel

In the GTC classification of the Iberian Supercars, Rui Miritta enters the decisive round with 105 points, just five clear of Duarte Camelo / Pompeu Simões, who stand on 100. The driver of the Monteiros Competições Porsche 911 Cup arrives at Estoril having already secured the GTC title and Cup division crown in the Supercars España, now aiming to add the Iberian and national GTC titles to his résumé. The slender advantage over the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport of Speedy Motorsport, shared by Camelo and Simões, guarantees that nothing is settled in advance.

In the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade (CPV), the balance remains similar. Miritta leads the GTC class with 121 points, with Camelo / Simões following on 103. Any reversal of finishing positions across the two races could change the order, making risk management, qualifying execution and the chase for fastest laps potentially decisive in determining the champion.

Cup – Miritta the Favourite

In the Cup division of the Iberian Supercars, Miritta enjoys a more comfortable margin, leading with 131 points ahead of Marcus Fothergill / Dave Benett, who have 87 in their Tockwith Motorsports Porsche 911 Cup. While the British pairing remain mathematically in contention, the Portuguese driver has the title firmly in his own hands.

The CPV picture is similar: Miritta heads the Cup classification with 133 points, followed by Adam Fawsitt / Pedro Paiva Raposo in the Protech Motorsport Ferrari F430 Challenge on 91. For the latter, hopes rest on a perfect weekend combined with misfortune for the leader.

GTX – Camelo and Simões Seek the Clean Sweep

GTX has been one of the most spectacular divisions within the GTC pack, and the 2025 standings reflect that trend. In the Iberian Supercars, Duarte Camelo / Pompeu Simões lead with 106 points in the Speedy Motorsport-run Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, but still face several serious contenders. Former FPAK Junior Team driver Henrique Moura Oliveira, driving the Monteiros Competições BMW M4 GT4 (F82), is next with 77 points and will again be joined this weekend by Chloe Grant.

Ángel Santos heads to Estoril with 73 points in the Chefo Sport Petrogold Ligier JS2R – already crowned GTX champion in Supercars España and keen to finish the Iberian campaign on a high, even if regular partner Alejandro Iribas will miss the event and be replaced by Portuguese youngster Gabriel Caçoilo. António Almeida, at the wheel of the Tockwith Motorsports Ginetta G55 and one of the revelations of the season, also remains firmly in the hunt with 71 points.

In the CPV, Camelo / Simões hold 118 points and a clearer advantage over Luca Staccini / Gracie Mitchell (Ginetta G55, Tockwith Motorsports) on 92. Moura Oliveira appears with 80, also mathematically alive in the fight. Any mistake or alternative strategic interpretation of tyre management or “handicap time” could reopen the battle entirely, setting the stage for two intense GTX contests.

Touring Cars – Much Still to Decide

In the Touring Car standings of the Iberian Supercars, Diogo Castro leads with 85 points, but feels direct pressure from João Faria on 80 and Tomás Martins on 75—all three racing for the FPAK Junior Team in Ginetta G40s.

Daniel Teixeira, on 70 points, also retains mathematical chances, meaning four drivers remain in the hunt. With two races to run, any one of them could leave Estoril as Iberian Touring Car champion, though the JT59 Racing Team’s Daniel Teixeira driving the family team Hyundai Elantra N TCR enters as the favourite thanks to the technical superiority of his car and his greater experience.

In the CPV, the defending champion Daniel Teixeira leads with 124 points, the result of a season combining speed with strong recovery drives. Castro (85) and Faria (80) remain in contention, though both require a near-perfect weekend and potential setbacks for the leader.

TC – An Internal FPAK Junior Team Battle

In the TC divisions of both the Iberian Supercars and the CPV - fought at the wheel of the FPAK Junior Team’s Ginettas operated by Monteiros Competições - the standings are particularly close. Diogo Castro leads with 95 points, narrowly ahead of João Faria on 92. Tomás Martins, on 85, remains in position to contest the title, especially if he can capitalise on a strong result in the opening race.

With 54 points still available, this three-way internal battle promises to be one of the focal points of the weekend. The young Portuguese drivers have shown significant progress throughout the year and arrive at Estoril with deep knowledge of their Ginettas, suggesting direct wheel-to-wheel duels and minimal margins at the line.

How to Watch

To follow the decisive moments of the season live, motorsport fans may purchase day tickets for €15, while the full-weekend pass is available for €20, both through BOL.pt.

The Autódromo do Estoril is therefore set to host an exceptionally intense season finale, with hard-fought races and titles likely to be decided by the smallest of margins in an atmosphere charged with emotion.

As usual, live television coverage will be available on DAZN Portugal and DAZN Spain, as well as on Race Ready’s YouTube channel. International broadcasts will also be provided, with English-language coverage by AlphaLive, German coverage by Deutsch Motorsport Television, and Italian coverage by Parc Fermé, ensuring wide dissemination of one of the most important weekends on the calendar.
