Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal join Iberian Supercars with Bernardo Sousa and Carlos Vieira

The presence of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Caetano Portugal team in the 2024 Iberian Supercars and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade (CPV) has been confirmed. They will be entering the brand-new Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO for Portuguese drivers Carlos Vieira and Bernardo Sousa, both of whom have a successful track record in national motorsport. They debuted the latest EVO version of the GR Supra GT4 at the recent test day at the Autódromo do Estoril.

Carlos Vieira and Bernardo Sousa will share the drive of the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO, which was built in Cologne at Toyota Gazoo Racing's facilities, and will be run by Sport & You in the series. The championship kicks off on May 25 and 26 in Jerez de la Frontera.

Toyota Gazoo Racing has incorporated customer input directly into the development of the GR Supra GT4 EVO. This reflects Toyota Gazoo Racing's commitment to continuous improvement and the creation of "ever better cars.”

Despite its success in the class, Toyota introduced the EVO version in 2023. In light of the persistent pursuit of better performance, development focused on three main areas: brakes, handling, and engine refinement.

Thanks to an improved braking system, adapted ABS settings, the latest KW shock absorber technology, and an updated anti-roll bar specification, the GR Supra GT4 EVO delivers improved handling and higher cornering speeds.

The GR Supra GT4 EVO boasts increased power and an optimized torque curve from the six-cylinder 3-litre turbo block, benefiting from an optimized cooling system.
