Vítor Costa will embark on his second season in the Supercars Endurance series in 2026, continuing his campaign in the Cup division of the GTC category at the wheel of a Porsche 911 Cup run by Monteiros Competições. The Portuguese gentleman driver heads into the new season with clear ambitions of taking a step forward in performance.
After several years competing in historic racing, Costa found a new sporting challenge in the Iberian Peninsula’s leading circuit racing championship. He delivered a solid debut campaign in 2025, highlighted by two podium finishes in the Cup division and steady progression throughout the season.
That learning process now forms the foundation for his 2026 campaign. As the driver explains, his decision to continue in the championship is driven by a clear desire to build on the experience gained and raise his competitive level. “Continuing in the championship comes from a very clear intention to improve on last season, which was, above all, a year of initiation in this category. There is therefore a natural margin to evolve consistently and make a qualitative step forward in performance”, he said.
Costa’s commitment to Race Ready-organised series is also closely linked to the strength of the grid and the technical demands of the series, factors he identifies as key sources of motivation. “Iberian Supercars now brings together a field of drivers, teams and machinery that raises the level of competition in every session, and that is exactly what motivates me to be on the grid. On the other hand, already knowing the circuits allows me to approach each event with a higher level of preparation and efficiency”, he added.

In a season where the separation of grids between GT4 and the GTC and Touring Car field stands out as one of the main novelties, Costa believes the new format will further enhance competition within his category. “The split grids are a positive factor. They introduce greater balance, increase on-track intensity and provide more closely fought and homogeneous races. For those who enjoy competing, it will make all the difference”, he noted, echoing the general expectation that the new structure will strengthen both the spectacle and the on-track battles.
At the wheel of the Monteiros Competições Porsche 911 Cup, Costa approaches 2026 with more ambitious objectives, underpinned by a focus on consistency and progression. “For this season, I enter with a very clear ambition to be consistent, to be regularly fighting for top positions in my division and to take solid steps towards closing the gap to the overall front. More than isolated results, the goal is to build a strong, competitive championship, as error-free as possible”, he concluded.
The Supercars Endurance season gets underway from 15 to 17 May at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portugal, with the opening round forming part of the Algarve Iberian Racing Festival and counting towards the Iberian Supercars, Campeonato de España de Supercars and Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade.
