An exciting new entry will join the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade (CPV) by Hankook in the streets of Vila Real on July 2 and 3. Pedro Salvador and André Pimenta will share a McLaren 570S GT4 entered in the GT4 Pro class.
The Trás-os-Montes native and "boss" of Speedy Motorsport Pedro Salvador, together with André Pimenta, will drive one of the SMC Motorsport McLaren 570S GT4 cars that were dominant in the season-opener at Jarama. Both portuguese drivers Salvador and Pimenta do not hide their enthusiasm for having the opportunity to line up in the most important Portuguese circuit series and in a track with so much history as the Vila Real street circuit.
"We have here a unique opportunity to be in a mythical circuit in a car also mythical and an iconic brand. Our goals are to achieve the best possible sports result, always aware that our competition is strong and that we have already had one weekend of races this year. A difficult challenge, but one in which we are focused on giving our best. I would like to thank Vangest Group and Delta Cafés for providing us the conditions to embrace this challenge," said Pedro Salvador.
André Pimenta shares the same opinion as his team mate: "We know we have a very strong and well-prepared competition, but we are very focused on achieving a good result. Above all, we want to give an excellent return to those who support us. We are very happy, very focused and prepared to meet the objectives we set ourselves when we embraced this participation. A great weekend of racing is expected, with many smiles and with a lot of public, which we expect in our assistance with open arms."
Both CPV by Hankook races at Vila Real Circuit will be broadcast live on Porto Canal and live streaming.
